Hi! In light of the recent controversy regarding HotPink, consider this as an official announcement and effective conclusion with regards to that controversy.

I won't copy-paste our agreement anymore on this post, but it's available somewhere public. What's important is that HotPinkGames and we at StrangeGirlStudios have finally come into an agreement, meaning Lovecraft Locker can now be continued to receive updates.

In the meantime, Lovecraft Locker: Tentacle Lust will receive content and gameplay updates as we figure things out to handle the "visual overhaul" aspect of our agreement with HotPink. Considering the complexity of LCL: TL's state already as a project, we're thinking of redoing everything from the ground up to make room for this "visual overhaul". Please note that not only do we think this is the best choice since a visual overhaul means really doing the visual aspect anyway, but we've also learned a lot already when it comes to game development, animation, and other stuff which we intend to apply to the new Lovecraft Locker.

As said, the current Lovecraft Locker will still receive updates in the coming months, so no gaps will be made, alongside the development of Tentacle Fantasy Soda. The earliest reasonable projection for the new "Lovecraft Locker 2" (not really a sequel but basically a sequel) will be December this year or at the earliest next year. Also, we'll be uploading the remake within the current Itch page of Lovecraft Locker so rest assured you don't have to buy this game again if you have done so already.

This marks the end of the tentacle war.

More lewds are coming.

I know of no reason the tentacle treason should ever be forgot.

Seriously, HPs attitude and actions have no place in a dev community, let alone an indie dev community.

May the eroge scenes memory of their actions be longer than a horny tentacle.

This "dev community" likely influenced HotPink in the first place. Established names like RNGeusEX knows them on a personal level. It's not surprising that this "dev community" is hostile to new devs to control their dominance.

Quite possibly, but influence is not choice, nor action. They made the move, let them take the consequences. My wallet doesnt reward bullies.

I mean, it is technically his assets they're using. And because they're using his assets and programming, but have added more stuff (outside of a mod pack) and made it paid, the original developer was practically forgotten and hasn't received any money for the game he worked on programming from the ground up.

(1 edit) (+7)(-1)

So far, you're literally the only one that even mentioned "programming" about this issue. Even HotPink didn't claim programming on their Itch.io report.

It is a common knowledge that Tentacle Locker and Lovecraft Locker are made from two separate game engines, which means two separate programming languages.

At least try to research harder about the stuff you claim, it's just embarrassing you're randomly throwing things in here.

(-5)

Even if the programming is on a different engine, it can be the same program and same assets. It's idiotic to even claim that I'm mistaken. There are thousands of games that have identical programming on seperate engines. So, shut up on that.

Saying that information about a indy porn game that <300 people have purchased is "common knowledge" is also incorrect, so shuttith.

Regarding HotPink, he's a moron. The fact of the matter is, in a courtroom, this is theft of intellectual property. Get off itch -- you're 16 years old and you haven't even paid for the game.

Glad it was possible to sort things out in the end. I also think that remaking the game for a full original approach will benefit everyone in the long run, specially the game itself since the current visual aspect is cute but very simplistic
